[NEWS] Big Bang’s Alive Ranked Top on Album Sales for the First half of 2012! (120721)














Big Bang’s Alive ranked top on album sales for the first half of 2012 with 266,911 copies sold. The group’s 5th EP was the only album that sold over 200,000 copies.



The formidable boy group ranked high with several songs from the album, such as the title “BLUE.” Also, Big Bang’s special edition album Still Alive ranked the sixth, selling 117,929 copies, which allowed the group to have two top ten albums.



The runner-up, SHINee, sold 168,161 copies. of its 4th EP, Sherlock.



SNSD’s first unit group, TaeTiSeo sold the most of its album among K-pop girl groups. Perching at the third place, the three twinkling girls sold 140,826 copies of its first EP, Twinkle.



JYJ’s Jun Su was the most successful solo, ranking fourth with his first solo album Tarantallegra (126,220 copies sold). CNBlue’s third EP Ear Fun ranked 5th, having sold 121,735 copies.

Busker Busker, one of the most outstanding rookies, ranked seventh with its first studio album, selling 114,760 copies.

The Legendary group Shinhwa ranked tenth with its tenth album The Return, selling 77,279 copies of it.



“Nine albums sold over one hundred thousand copies first half of this year. That’s noteworthy compared to the record of last year. Last year, twelve albums sold over one hundred thousand copies,” a source from Gaon Chart said.
