[NEWS] G-Dragon's "One of a Kind" MV Reaches Over 10 Million Views! (120903)

G-Dragon's music video of "One of a Kind" has been released on September 25 and has received over 10 million views already on YouTube.

Also, G-Dragon's music video for "That XX", which was released September 1, received over 3.3 million views only 2 days after the date of its release. G-Dragon's power in the music industry is clearly exemplified by the number of views his music videos received from people located all over the globe.

G-Dragon is following the footsteps of Psy, who all-killed almost every single music chart in Korea. G-Dragon's "That XX" all-killed various music charts, including music sites like Melon and Mnet, as soon as it was released. G-Dragon's "That XX" is maintaining its place in the number 1 spot and continues to gain popularity.

The fact that G-Dragon is maintaining his number 1 spot in the music charts is even more meaningful and special because it is very unusual for a song that has adult content to even rise to the number 1 spot to begin with. However, regardless of the adult content in G-Dragon's new song "That XX", he is maintaining his place at the top.

One of the reasons why G-Dragon is expected to remain in the top is because of the fact that neither "One of a Kind" nor "That XX" is the title song for his solo album. G-Dragon's title song is expected to be a bigger hit and the anticipation for the rest of his album has reached a whole new level after he released the two songs.

OMG!!! This is so cool! VIP's really got One of a Kind! xD Stay with us for more updates!^^

[NEWS] YG Entertainment's Triple Threat for PSY, G-Dragon & 2NE1! (120829)

YG Entertainment and its prowess is growing every day.

As Psy's "Gangnam Style" music video surpassed the 60 million views on YouTube, Big Bang G-Dragon's new single, "One of a Kind," was also released on August 25, now recording 6.4 million views in a matter of 3 days.

Justin Bieber's management company recently reached out to Psy and took a meeting with him. 2NE1's Los Angeles concert featured a surprise performance with Will.i.am and interest from American companies. It is clear that YG is at the forefront of stepping out into the international markets.

Big Bang, 2NE1, Psy, Se7en, Epik High, and Gummy all line the YG label and they were always influential but it was never at this height. Even with Big Bang and 2NE1 at the top of their respective piles, the label had not been at the center of this much attention until "Gangnam Style" blew up everywhere. As Psy is being catapulted to world star status, the synergy is exacting its power on YG and their international reach.

As the Dokdo issue flares up again, YG is relieved from having to rely on the Japanese market for a large portion of their commercial success. Psy was originally scheduled to go into the Japanese market but as his song went viral, the doors to the American market opened first. He visited with some industry people in LA, after 10 days in the States and he came back with possibilities of good news.

Before the land dispute got ugly, YG already completed their Big Bang World Tour in Japan as well as the "YG Family: concert, which drew a total of 300,000 people in Japan and earned about $49 million. 2NE1 still has the Japanese portion of their World Tour left but there is currently no news of any ticket cancellations or refunds. Big Bang will continue their world tour into North and South America as well as Europe. As Psy begins to circle the world, YG will score its most profitable year yet in 2012.

This helped the YG stock prices for obvious reasons. It's been on an increasing trend since "Gangnam Style" debuted, having gone up approximately $165 million over the past two months. The reason being Psy's rise in status around the world. YG believes that the synergy to be expected from the Psy-Big Bang-2NE1 triangle will be immense and the recent success is because of this new power combination.

Psy is not an idol singer. He's not like the other boy and girl groups that have been dominating the market recently. His world fame now will most likely affect the way that the Korean music industry sees itself as well. A professor at Sungshin Women's University said, "The Psy phenomenon has confirmed that the variety in K-Pop can be a key to success rather than the formulaic creation of idol groups."

YG can also stand to benefit from the fame of "Gangnam Style" on merchandise. A German shopping mall has already started selling t-shirts with the "Gangnam Style" motif and though YG is not currently posing a problem, they should be gearing to take advantage of this opportunity and go into fashion with the recent increase in popularity as well.
Hwaiting GD, & also Big Bang^o^

The music video for G-Dragon’s newest single One of a Kind gained 5 million views as of August 27, only two days after its release on August 25.
One of a Kind, a trendy hip-hop single that stands out with unique sounds, serves as an intro to G-Dragon’s upcoming solo album, and was composed by G-Dragon and Choice37, the YG producer who composed G-Dragon’s A Boy and Big Bang’s Bad Boy. The song will not be released officially as a separate single; it was only meant to be released in music video form.

Through lyrics such as ‘A talented bear, more a fox than a bear / A stuck up guy, so expensive’, ‘Young & rich / That’s me’, ‘I’m sorry I’m so popular’ and ‘Please look on kindly, don’t curse / Please look on cutely / Love me’, he tells those who still hold prejudices against him to loosen up and be a bit more generous.
The music video is glittered with designer items, living up to G-Dragon’s name in fashion. Luxury accessories and clothing from such brands as Chrome Hearts and Chanel dress G-Dragon up in a lavish and attractive style.

Taeyang makes a special cameo appearance near the end, showing the friendship the two Big Bang members boast. Taeyang is also flanked by Choice37, YG’s trainer Hwang Ssa Bu and other crew members that helped G-Dragon be the man he is now to show their support for the singer’s comeback.

The music video was directed by Seo Hyun Seung, who directed Big Bang’s Fantastic Baby, G-Dragon’s Heartbreakerand other YG music videos.

G-Dragon is our One of A Kind, Hwaiting^^

[NEWS] Big Bang “MONSTER” MV expected to record over 25 million views on YouTube! (120605)

Will Big Bang‘s “Monster” MV be able to record over 25,000,000 views?

In just this year alone, Big Bang has released two MVs that have each received over 20 million views on YouTube. “Fantastic Baby” received approximately 25,000,000 views, while “Blue” received over 22,000,000 views. Additionally, their MV for “Bad Boy” is at the 15 million view mark.

Their new MV for “Monster” which was just released on June 3rd received 3,400,000 views in just a single day, and considering “Fantastic Baby” and “Blue” were released around 2 to 3 months ago, it would not be an exaggeration to say that at this rate “Monster” will be able to easily exceed 25million views in that same amount of time.

The explosive response from fans is credited to the boys’ unconventional appearance and the quality of the MV that’s on par with a Hollywood Blockbuster. The “Monster” MV is a collaboration project between both YG Entertainment and Hyundai Card, and the post-production alone reportedly took an entire month to complete.

Both fans and those in the industry alike are sitting on the edge of their seats, wondering if Big Bang will be able to break their own records.

Lets make this MV reached to billion viewers soon! keke^o^

[NEWS] "MONSTER" MV Sets Record for Most Views in Shortest Time! (120605)

Within a day of releasing the music video to their new song, “Monster,” Big Bang had over 3 million views on Youtube. This is the most views a K-Pop artist received in record time, and by 7 a.m. of June 4th (KST), there were already 3,013,554 views.

Individual member teasers building up to the release of the music video also received much attention, with a total of 5.9 million views; T.O.P’s teaser had the most views at two million, followed by G-Dragon at 1.6 million, Taeyang at 940K, Seungri at 880K, and Daesung at 480K.

The quality of the video itself also surpasses those of others in the country at the moment, featuring a blockbuster like quality. The “Monster” music video shows each member interpreting the “monster” character in their own way, highlighting their different personalities and styles. This video affirms Big Bang’s status as stylish trendsetters. Post-production alone took around a month, and the video is of such high caliber it almost transcends beyond the music video category and into the movie realm.
“Monster” absorbs you much beyond its humble five minute running time.

This is getting people to understand the popularity of Big Bang and their prominence in the music industry.

In the meantime, the boys of Big Bang are busy performing for hundreds of thousands of fans in Japan for the Japanese stop of their “Alive World Tour.” Their “Still Alive” special addition album, produced in collaboration with Hyundai Card, goes on sale nationwide on June 6.
