Seungri stands up for "Kimchi" Posted by vip4daesung on November 7, 2012

Big Bang‘s Seungri made a stand for kimchi on a Japanese television program recently.

Seungri appeared on the November 2nd broadcast of Nagoya TV‘s ‘Jakiroba‘, which featured guests from Nigeria, France, Afghanistan, and Columbia who introduced food from their countries.

The Big Bang member decided to introduce what is likely the most traditional Korean dish: kimchi. He stated, “Kimchi is really delicious. Red food invigorates appetite.”

However, one of the international guests did not seem impressed. The guest commented, “Kimchi is just cabbage that’s been [massaged with hands] and fermented.”

Seungri then got up angrily and joked, “What did you just say?” The guest went on to explain that cheese is better than kimchi, causing Seungri to warn him, “Don’t look down on kimchi. [Watch your mouth].”

Netizens commented, “He knows what he’s doing”, “He’s great”, “I want him to become an honorary ambassador for kimchi”, and “I support his career in Japan”.

[NEWS] Seungri's Diary Updates! (120710)

This is Nagoya!Since BIG BANG’s PR activities were too short, so the activity for this time is to go to places that I’ve never been before and greet the fans! Today I’m in Nagoya! The fortune cat (maneki-neko) is greeting me with a smile! I ate まそがつ (T/N: don’t know what that is, think he wrote it wrong, lol. Maybe he means ソマガツオ which is a type of sashimi) after the Nagoya broadcaster’s recommendation, and bread that was extremely hard!!

Even though time passed quickly but I still want to thank the fans in Nagoya who recognized Seungri!! I’m happy because of that!!So so so happy in Nagoya!!! After this I will be going to Osaka, Fukuoka, Shizuoka, Sendai, Kobe to greet the fans there. Please look forward to it!
Stay with us for more updates! ^^

Big Bang’s Nagoya concert causes chaos for Japanese railway system

Big Bang‘s recent Japanese concert has brought chaos to the Japanese railway system in Nagoya.

Starting on May 17th and 18th, Big Bang kicked off their ‘2012 Alive Tour‘ at the Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan. On May 18th, JR Tokai Railway company halted service at the Kasadera station temporarily due to fear that a large number of people would come in due to Big Bang’s concert. However, the train operator forgot to check on the station status, and passed by Kasadera when service continued. Ultimately, 800 people missed their ride.

A representative from Tokai explained, “We figured there would be a lot of confusion since the Big Bang concert was taking place near the Kasadera station. We initially decided to temporarily halt service at the Kasadera station, but the train driver rushed and packed passengers in and did not check new station points when he departed Kamagori station. He eventually passed by the Kasadera station.”

Big Bang’s concert tour will be covering Nagoya, Yokohama, Osaka, Saitama, Fukuoka, and more. Originally, the concert tour was to cover 5 cities with 10 concerts. However, 1 million fans flooded ticket reservations forcing Big Bang to add 3 more concerts to their list. Even with the additions, there were many complaints about lack of tickets. Thus, Big Bang has recently decided to add two additional shows. An additional concert will be held on November 23rd in Kyosera Dome, Osaka. The last one will be held on December 5th at the Tokyo Dome.
