A fan event for Japanese TV drama “YubiKoi-A Message to You” in which Big Bang’s Seungri played one of the main roles has ended in a great success.
Seungri, who played Korean student “Han Seung Ho” in “YubiKoi-A Message to You”, attended an event held on the 4th of this month at the campus of Tokai University in Tokyo to meet fans. Actress Takimoto, actor Hongo Kanata, and producer Otani Kentaro of the drama also took part in the event.
Seungri’s surprise performance of the drama’s theme song “Sorani Ekaku Omoi” (Thought painted in the sky) captivated fans at the event. It is Seungri’s first Japanese original song written by himself, which was also included in his solo debut album in Japan “LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE”, released in October this year. Seungri presented a special performance such as going off the stage to walk through the audience seats drew even more enthusiastic response.
After the performance, Seungri said “It is such a precious experience as a singer to produce TV drama’s theme song. I heard that I was selected to play Seung Ho’s role only after I put so much effort in writing the theme song, and then, I was just dumbfounded in an inexplicable joy.” He went to express his special affection for the drama, saying “I’m really pleased to see you today. This drama is the first-ever one for me in my life to play such a big role, so I really did my best for it. It is perfectly good for this cold season, when we want to love somebody”.
“YubiKoi-A Message to You” is a love story of innocent young men and women. It delicately depicts how young people who find it difficult to express their feelings develop their relationship by “texting”, as well as how their lives in early twenties are unfolded. In the drama, Seungri presents performance of a story of pure first love.
Seungri, who has recently been busy performing as a Big Bang member for the team’s Japan six dome tour, is expected to showcase a new and special charm not only as a singer but also as an actor in the drama.
