For our first magazine release of 2014, we are proud to announce the launch of the sixth issue of the HYPEBEAST Magazine. Titled ‘The Rhapsody Issue,’ we delve into the realms of fashion and music, and shed light on the modern dynamic between both entities. The rising influence of G-Dragon encapsulates the current state of affairs in popular culture and the South Korean pop star epitomizes the synonymity that fashion and music share. For this reason, G-Dragon, a.k.a. Kwon Ji-Yong, stands as the face of the cover feature — an in-depth look at the synergy between his music and fashion, the interesting partnership that he has with his stylist and what the future holds for the talented artist. Also featured in this issue are creative individuals that continue to push the envelope in their respective field. Representing the fashion world are founders Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, designer Thom Browne, Creative Director Dirk Schönberger of adidas‘ Sports Style division and En Noir‘s Rob Garcia. In the music corner, we’ve got famed fashion music photographer Mick Rock, up-and-coming singer/songwriter Snoh Aalegra and progressive electronic soul musician Ta-ku. Rounding out the issue is Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, as well as an editorial piece on the new partnership between British clothing label Bench and its creative partner FreshBritain.
